بدأ قسم العمليات بالعمل كأحد أهم أقسام المستشفى منذ أول يوم لافتتاح هذا المستشفى وذلك بغرف عمليات عددها (4)، وكانت احدى الغرف مخصصة لعمليات القلب والأعصاب وللعمليات الكبرى والمعقدة بينما خصصت الغرف الثلاثة لعمليات من حجم وسطى وصغرى، وكانت هذه العمليات في الدور تحت الأرضي ونظرا لتزايد عدد العمليات النوعية والعددية بكل أنواعها تم تطوير القسم وتم انشاء خمس غرف عمليات وغرفة عمليات للأسنان وخاصة الأطفال. ومع زيادة العدد والنوعية للعمليات ومواكبة تطور الأجهزة الطبية العالمية والتزاماً من المستشفى التخصصي بمسيرة الجودة والتميز ونظراً لأهمية قسم العمليات في هذا المجال فقد قامت إدارة المستشفى بتنفيذ قسم العمليات الجديد والذي يحتوي على احدث ما توصلت إليه تكنولوجيا التصميم والتنفيذ والتجهيز والمحتوي على الآتي
عدد مميز من الغرف وصل إلى عشرة غرف جميعها على نفس المستوى ، تصميم الهيكل من الستيل وليس بناءً مع الأخذ بعين الاعتبار عدم وجود زوايا حادة في الغرف لضمان تدوير وتنقية الهواء
استعمال تقنية ultra clean Air والذي يقوم بتنقية الهواء 26 مرة كل ساعة باستعمال نظام laminar flow من خلال HEPPA filter ، واحدث نظام في مرور الهواء
(special diffuser)
نظام طلاء الجدران بألوان مختلفة وهو مضاد وقاتل للبكتيريا، والفيروسات والطفيليات ، مما يضمن عدم تكاثر الميكروبات داخل غرف العمليات
نظام الأبواب الاتوماتيكي والذي يعمل بدون لمس
نظام الأرضيات الخاص المانع للكهرباء الساكنة
نظام إنارة العمليات والذي يعتبر الأول من نوعه وهو احدث ما توصل إليه علم الإنارة الجراحية وبدون حرارة أو ظل والذي يعتمد على LED technology
نظام الطاولات الجراحية الحديث وهي أيضا من احدث الموديلات والتي تلبي جميع الأوضاع ومتطلبات العمليات الجراحية
تم تأمين وتدريب جميع الكوادر اللازمة للعمل في هذا المشروع الضخم لضمان الاستغلال الأمثل لإمكانيات القسم
على أن تكون هذه الغرف مجهزة بأحدث المستويات العالمية والتقنية العالمية وتم تخصيص هذه الغرف بمميزاتها التالية
أولا: تم تجهيز القسم بغرفة لعمليات الجراحة التنظيرية بتكنولوجيا متقدمة جداً يحتوي نظام التصوير من خلال ثلاث كاميرات رقمية وكذلك أرشفة جميع المعلومات عن العملية الجراحية من خلال أنظمة كمبيوترية متقدمة ذات سعة عالية ويمكن من خلال هذه الغرفة الاتصال ونقل المعلومات لأي مكان بالعالم وذلك من خلال تقنية Tele Medica
ويستطيع الجراح التحكم بأغلب الأدوات والتجهيزات داخل هذه الغرفة من خلال الصوت voice activation بالإضافة لأحدث العدد الجراحية للتنظير،وتعتبر هذه التجهيزات نقلة نوعية متقدمة في علم الجراحة التنظيرية في الأردن والمنطقة
ثانيا: تخصيص بعض هذه الغرف الى غرفة عمليات القلب المفتوح المتطور وتم تحديث هذه الغرفة بجهاز قلب ورئة صناعية على أحدث المستويات وتوفير كادر تمريضي مميز لمثل هذه العمليات الجراحية المتطورة
ثالثا: تم أيضا تجهيز غرفة خاصة لجراحة الأسنان وتحتوي على نفس مواصفات الغرف الأخرى بالإضافة إلى احدث كرسي أسنان من شركة serona الألمانية 0مع توفير كادر تمريضي متميز لمثل هذه العمليات
رابعا: تخصيص غرفة لعمليات جراحة العظام والمفاصل وتجهيز هذه الغرفة بأحدث الأجهزة العالمية المتطورة والمعدات الجراحية المتنوعة
خامسا: تخصيص غرفة خاصة لعمليات جراحة الدماغ والأعصاب وقد تم تجهيز هذه الغرفة بأحدث ما توصل اليه العلم الحديث من عدد جراحية دقيقة وتوفير ميكروسكوب حديث ومتطور
سادسا: تخصيص غرفة لجراحة طب العيون وتم تجهيز هذه الغرفة بأحدث المعدات الجراحية الدقيقة والاجهزة الطبية المتطورة بأعلى المستويات وتوفير الميكروسكوب الخاص لجراحة عمليات العيون وعدد جراحية خاصة لمثل هذه العمليات الدقيقة والمعقدة
سابعا: تخصيص غرفتين لزراعة الكلى بأعلى المستويات العالمية
ثامنا:-تخصيص غرفة للمسالك البولية وجراحة التجميل بأعلى مستوى من التحديثات والتجهيزات الطبية
تاسعا:- تخصيص غرفتين تابعة لقسم العمليات في قسم الولادة خاصة للعمليات الجراحية النسائية لتسهيل العمل والاجراءات في الحالات الطارئة وتأمين جميع المعدات الجراحية اللازمة وكادر تمريضي مميز لمثل هذه العمليات
عاشرا:- يقوم قسم العمليات الجديد بتغطية العمل على مدار 24 ساعة حيث يتم توفير مناوبين يوميا ويتم استدعاء وزيادة العدد من التمريض في الحالات الطارئة أو عند زيادة ضغط العمل وحسب الطلب مع العلم بأن جميع الكادر التمريضي يتميز بمختلف الخبرات والتعامل مع مختلف أنواع العمليات البسيطة والمعقدة لملازمة العمل في هذا المشروع الضخم ومواكبة التطور ولاستغلال الأمثل لإمكانيات القسم

Since the opening of the hospital in 1993 the OR Department pass through many phases.
Initially this department started in the basement floor by four rooms one of them for major surgery like heart, and the neurosurgery and the other three were dedicated for other types of surgery.
In the few years after that, due to the increase of demand on our service and to adopt the recent advances in field of Technology the operating department moved to the third floor in the main building, this department constitutes of five operating theater and one dental room with special chair for under general anesthesia procedures, in alignment with strategic direction of our hospital in our commitment toward quality, excellence and safety.
In 2007 we started the most ambitious project for most update operating theaters in the health care sector in the country in the new extension at the fourth floor of the hospital with completely New Design matching the international standard, the new department which was inaugurated under the patronage of princess Bassma Bin Talal on May 2009.
· The department constitute from the following:
10 operating theaters with unique design equipped with the latest surgical technology in the market all rooms, with the same standard even the dental surgery suite.
We used the modular steel structure in the construction rather than the traditional building which give the structure a unique design with No hidden corner to make sure that all room`s air are circulated through the special HEPPA filter 26 times / hour give the theater its ultra clean air with laminar flow.
The special wall coating vinyl with bactericidal, Fungicidal and virucidal propertiesMaintain the infection prevention rules to keep this standard as high as we could which will be reflected on very low post operative wound complications and secure the safe surgery principle
Special care was given for the doors which operate with no Touch Technique as well as the scraping sinks which maintain the above mentioned rules regarding infection prevention.
Of course as the safety is of prime concern to us the special conductive vinyl for the floor and the electro-surgical generator which contain the REM technology Make the electrical hazard to the patient an obsolute issue.
Surgical lighting system with LED Technology which is the most advanced system in lighting without shadow and cool in long operation with central camera to document the operation and audio visual communications.
Operating table which accommodate all types of operation and position with all Needed Accessory.
All rooms are equipped with very high Tech Anesthesia Machine.
Dedicated well trained staff was available 24 hours 7 days a week.
This include on site Anesthetist, Technician and enough OR , nursing staff.
The operating department includes the following sections:
A. Dedicated operating rooms 10 rooms
B. Recovery Area 12 beds
C. Staff changing and rest room 3 areas
Dedicated operating room:
1. Endoscopic surgery suite which is the stat of arte technology in endoscopic surgery Stryker 1 suit excused by Stryker company which is specialized in this field of surgery the facility in this OR, enable the surgeon to be in command of all equipments and can operate them by voice activation technology. Documentation and archiving for all the procedure done through the sophisticated Sidney software system which also can be used to communicate with other colleagues through the hospital, country and even overseas à Tele Medicine, Tele surgery, tele conference facility.
This suit equipped with all Needed latest equipments and surgical instrument Considered unique in the area and a considerable achievement in the quality of laparoscopic surgery in Jordan
2. Cardiac and vascular surgery rooms with two heart lung machine, flow meter heating cooling machine which enable the department to operate on two patient simultaneously These types of surgery is conducted by highly qualified team of surgeon nurse and technicians.
3. Dental and maxillo facial surgery room with latest dental chair from the German company serona in addition for all instrument needed.
4. Orthopedic, Trauma and joint replacement room. With high Tech C- ARM contain memory and vascular soft-ware to enable surgeon to do some interventional procedure in the same room, and here the patient will benefit most from ultra clean air technology especially Joint Replacement Patient.
5. Neurosurgery Room with special table and the latest range of surgical Microscope from Ziess Company with the ability to perform Robotic Surgery and Navigation if needed.
6. Ophthalmic surgery Room with dedicated well trained staff operating Two Machine for Phaco and Vetrectomy surgery from ALCON company, in addition to the sophisticated ophthalmic Microscope from Moller Weidl company and the ability to achieve and documents all ophthalmic operation through the DVD in internal circuit .
7. Kidney Transplant suite which include 2 communicating Room for the Donor and the recipient with no need to go outside the room which prevent accident in transportation and keep the infection prevention issue in control.
8. Urology and plastic surgery Room which equipped with the latest in urological instrument like scope of all degrees and lithotripter ultrasonic and pneumatic with PCNL system which expand the utilization of interventional urology in the presence of advance C-ARM also plastic surgeon can use the microscopic surgery with the availability of surgical Microscope.
9. Two Dedicated theater for obstetrics and gynecology surgery with all needed traditional and laparoscopic instrument including most update Hysteroscopy.
